Don’t know what to do with your left over bread? Without much effort, here is how you convert leftovers into something delicious in just 20 mins! The traditional bread pudding….

  • 5 loafs of bread shredded
  • 4 tbs sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 and a half cup milk
  • quarter cup nuts(almonds/cashews/raisins)
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1 tbs vanilla essence

caramel sauce:

  • 4 tbs sugar
  • 4 drops of water

Soak the bread in half cup milk for half an hour. Blend with the sugar, eggs and the rest of the milk.

Once the texture is smooth enough, throw in the vanilla essence.

Roast the nuts in the butter and add to the mixture.

In a small sauce pan, pour the sugar and heat it with a few drops of water, wait for it to caramelize. Pour this caramelized mixture into the dish to be steamed.

Pour the pudding mixture carefully into the dish and place on the double boiler for 20 mins. The pudding will rise, hence do NOT fill the dish up completely.

Make sure there is an outlet for the steam.

after 20 minutes, take a look at the pudding. If it is still not solid, keep it for another 10 mins.

Once done, keep it for cooling and turn it over!

And there you have it…..
